Still Point Art Gallery Opens Sacred Time - Sacred Space

Still Point Art Gallery has recently opened its current online exhibition, Sacred Time - Sacred Space. [http://www.stillpointartgallery.com] This exhibition examines the sacred through visual art. Christine Cote, director of Still Point Art Gallery, offers these words to describe the exhibition: “The sacred manifests itself in time and space. Feasts, festivals, ceremonies, and rituals mark a return to sacred time, a separation from ordinary time, a time generally filled with excitement, significance, and transition. Temples, churches, shrines, and special areas in the natural world are sacred spaces, removed from our ordinary everyday environment, thus allowing us to focus on spirit—that which gives meaning to our lives.”
About one hundred images are included in the online exhibition. They represent the work of over forty painters, photographers, and mixed-media artists. At least one work from each artist will be featured in the upcoming winter 2012 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly, the art and literary magazine produced by the gallery. http://www.stillpointartgallery.com/quarterly.htm
Three artists exhibiting in Sacred Time - Sacred Space were named Artists of Distinction: photographer John Brooks, painter Deb Houston, and mixed media artist Jill Valliere. To acknowledge and promote their work, Artists of Distinction are offered the opportunity to publish a portfolio of their work in Still Point Arts Quarterly. In addition, Artists of Distinction show their work for one year as Gallery Artists.
Sacred Time, Sacred Space is viewable until February 5, 2013. http://www.stillpointartgallery.com/index.php?action=gall....
