Louis Colaiannia, nationally renowned song writer, arranger and performer was named recently to Colorado’s Italian American Hall of Fame.

“I am humbled to be included in the Hall of Fame along with so many truly great people,” Louis Colaiannia said. “I don't feel as though I belong, but I will cherish the honor.”

“Any Italian American who has distinguished himself or herself through repeated contributions of time, talent and/or through service and have reflected positively on the Italian American community can be considered,”  said Joe Aiello, Publisher of Andiamo, a weekly newspaper for the Italian American Community.

Ten men and women were inducted into Colorado's Italian American Hall of Fame for 2012. In addition to Colaiannia, were John Ferrugia, nationally renowned investigative journalist and Charles Fote, former CEO of the immensely successful First Data Corporation.

Louis Colaiannia (coal-ee-AH-nah) is a native of Denver, Colorado. He has pursued music his entire life, with the simple goal of sharing his gift with the World.

Now in his 50s, (and as energetic as ever), Colaiannia is embarking on a public career, performing around the Denver area, and nationwide.

Louis credits his success to sage advice given by his parents, Louis & Rose Colaiannia. “Mom always told me that if and when I ever set my sights on something, I should never quit…and Dad told me that I need to realize that everyone gets knocked down in life, but the successful get back up.”

When Louis isn’t busy writing, arranging or performing, he’s usually found working on a nonprofit radio station in support of the Global Youth Music Project.  For more information, go to http://www.louismusic.com/about/.

Louis holds a Mozart Award for his contributions to music, and his latest releases show his versatility, breaking into the Contemporary Jazz, New Age and "Chill" realms.

His masterful interpretations of the electronic keyboard and traditional piano combine with his skillful arrangements to create music that moves the soul. Colaiannia sees his piano as an inspirational tool.  “Passion never gets in the way of life, but life sometimes get in the way of passion.”

Colaiannia had two top ten chart albums during 2011.   Colaiannia has made seven albums in his career and when not performing in venues across America, is already working on a new album to be released next year.

“I love music... music is emotionally-charged passion," Colaiannia said. "I write, arrange and perform in the hopes that my music will reach a level of acceptance that it will still get played after I'm gone.”

Colaiannia also hosts a radio show on KYGT (102.7 FM ) on Sundays.  The show can be streamlined and features music and interviews.  More information at: http://www.kygt.org. Or, 303.567.4628.
