Spice up your blogger blog with emoticons for comment

Blogger is the best free blogging service on the internet. If you are a Blogger fan, you can make your blog more impressive and beautiful by using emoticons for comment. Just like Yahoo emoticons, it will display some funny smiley emoticons when your visitors type some special characters in their comments.

To add these smiley emoticons, follow these steps:

Step 1:

First log in your blog, go to Design, then click on Edit HTML tab, and click on Expand Widget Templates tick-box. Now find this code in your template:

Just before it, add these code lines:

Step 2:

In this step we will add the emoticons with their related characters above the comment form. Find in your template the code where the comment form starts, add these code before it.

Depend on each template, the code starts the comment form is different. You should search the keyword comment-form and do some tests, you will find it. There is an example below:

Step 3:

This is the last step, because we want to replace special characters in our users’ comments with smiley emoticons, we have to find the code that display users’ comments. You can use the keywords comment-auhtor or comment.author to find it. After you have found it, put that part of code in the DIV tag as below:

Finally save the template. Now check your site and see the result.
